Transportation
Georgetown University Transporation Shuttle (GUTS)- operates five shuttle routes, connecting the campus to the Georgetown University Law Center on Capitol Hill, to University offices on Wisconsin Avenue, to Metro stations at Rosslyn (Virginia) and Dupont Circle (District of Columbia) and to stops in North Arlington, VA.
Students, Faculty and Staff with a valid Georgetown University ID card may ride along any GUTS route at no charge. Visitors and persons doing business on campus may also ride free of charge and must show a picture ID at the time of boarding. Buses with handicapped access are available on all GUTS routes.

Metrorail- The Metrorail is Washington's subway system. It can be used to reach many parts of the city as well as many Virginia and Maryland suburbs. The nearest stops to the University are Dupont Circle, Foggy Bottom, and Rosslyn (Virginia). All of these stops are either a thirty minute walk or a short bus ride from Georgetown.

Metrobus- The Metrobus system is quite extensive. To get a rail-to-bus discount or to transfer free from bus-to-bus, you must use a SmarTrip® card. The University area is served by five primary metro bus routes (click here for free Adobe Reader):
- The Pennsylvania Avenue Line (32, 36) run through Georgetown to Wisconsin Ave, through M Street & Pennsylvania Ave down to Capitol and beyond. The Ballston-Farragut Square Line (38B) bus runs through Georgetown and ends at the Ballston Metro station in North Arlington.
- The Glover Park-Dupont Circle Line (D2) runs from Glover Park (north of the University) to 35th and Q Streets, and ends at the Dupont Circle Metro station. The Sibley Hospital-Stadium Armory Line (D1, 3, 6) covers Glover Park, Georgetown University and Hospital, Dupont Circle and then heads downtown.
- The G2 bus runs from the main gates of the University to Dupont Circle and then to Howard University.

DC Maryland Virginia
There are two fare periods for Metrorail - regular fares (rush hour) and reduced fares (non-rush hour). It costs more to ride during rush hour, from 5am to 9:30am and from 3pm to 7pm, Monday through Friday and on weekends from 2am to 3am. Click here for fare and pass information. Taxis- The rates for taxis are regulated and posted in all taxicabs. The meter starts when the taxi pulls away from the curb and ends when the cab stops at the final destination. Additional charges are made for luggage, service during rush hours, extra passengers and snow emergency.
